Garlock MULTI-SWELL™ Style 3760 is a controlled-swell gasketing material designed to generate its own compressive load when exposed to oil, water, and a variety of other fluids. Certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 & 372 for potable water service, this material is ideal for lower-load flanges often used with compressors, gearbox assemblies, pumps, and lightweight oil systems. Gaskets made of MULTI-SWELL™ deliver an ultra-tight seal where traditional fiber or rubber gaskets leak or crush over time. With superior conformability, it easily replaces traditional vegetable fiber materials that wick process fluids and weep over time, offering a more reliable and longer-lasting seal across a wide range of general service applications.

The proprietary formulation of MULTI-SWELL™ 3760 is highly effective for sealing flanges that are worn, irregular, or lightweight in design. The improved compressibility over traditional fiber gasket materials forms an effective seal in less-than-perfect surfaces. Recognized in the Plastic Pipe Institute’s TN-38 technical bulletin as a preferred solution for sealing HDPE flanges, it delivers exceptional performance in demanding polyethylene flange connections. Easy to cut and handle during fabrication, extremely forgiving during installation, and proven reliability ensure MULTI-SWELL™ 3760 delivers safe, effective sealing across a wide range of industries and demanding service conditions.

For high-temperature or chemically aggressive service, consider GYLON EPIX® Style 3504 or THERMa-PUR® Style 4122-FC. For extremely low load non-metallic flange connections, consider GYLON STRESS SAVER® Styles 3504 and 3522.

  • Overview

Features and Benefits:

  • Fully NSF certified for use in potable water.
  • Recognized by the Plastic Pipe Institute’s TN-38 technical bulletin as a preferred solution for sealing HDPE flanges.
  • Proprietary formulation swells in contact with oil or water to create its own compressive load for a tighter seal.
  • Seals effectively at lower loads than traditional fiber gaskets, making it ideal for lightweight and low torque flanges.
  • Delivers higher crush resistance than rubber gaskets, providing added reliability in demanding service conditions.
  • Replaces outdated vegetable fiber materials that are prone to weeping, reducing leaks and improving facility cleanliness.
  • Highly compressible material conforms to uneven or worn flange surfaces for a more effective seal.
  • Maintains structural integrity when exposed to petroleum oils, diesel fuel, kerosene, and water.
  • American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) approved for use in marine and offshore equipment.
