Garlock’s FLEXSEAL® H2 is a metal spiral wound gasket with dual sealing elements, engineered to deliver exceptional purity and fire-safe performance in the most demanding gas applications. Designed for gaseous or liquid hydrogen, and oxygen service, as well as chemicals within supporting systems, the FLEXSEAL® H2 provides reliable performance in high pressure, flammable, and extreme temperature service conditions—ideal for use in production, processing, and distribution systems that must comply with ASME B31.12 and ASME B16.20. Additionally, this gasket is cleaned and packaged for oxygen service to ensure the highest level of purity.
FLEXSEAL® H2 features a unique dual-seal design that sets it apart from conventional spiral wound gaskets. The primary inner PTFE filler wraps deliver outstanding sealability, high purity, and chemical resistance, while the secondary outer flexible graphite wraps act as a fire-safe barrier in the event of a fire or sudden temperature spike. The stainless-steel outer guide ring ensures proper alignment and flange stability, while the inner ring guards against radial buckling in high compressive load / high-pressure service. Available with a variety of metal alloys, FLEXSEAL® H2 is built to perform in demanding hydrogen, industrial gas and chemical services.
- Overview
Features and Benefits:
- Cleaned and packaged for oxygen service to ensure no organic contaminants are introduced into the system.
- Achieve both high purity and fire-safe performance with dual sealing elements made of PTFE and graphite.
- Primary PTFE filler wraps provide superior chemical resistance, and optimal sealability for gas or liquid service.
- Secondary flexible graphite filler wraps provide seal and system integrity in the event of a facility fire or unplanned system temperature excursion.
- Successfully passed API 6FB fire testing, which is widely regarded as the industry benchmark for fire-safe performance.
- Ensures long-term durability under high pressures and temperatures with spiral wound metal construction.
- Standard configuration comes with an inner ring that prevents winding damage due to radial buckling.
- Meets hydrogen and oxygen service standards with ASME B31.12-compliant design.
- Stainless steel outer ring provides reliable flange alignment and sealing element positioning in standard flanges.
